Rabbi Raphael Adler is excited to serve as the new spiritiual leader of Temple Anshei Shalom, the vibrant synagogue of the future. Born to a rabbinic family going back generations, Rabbi Adler has previously served major congregations in Woodbury and Rochester, New York.
He received traditional Rabbinic Ordination (Semikha) from Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchik, of The Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary and a Masters in Jewish Philosophy, from Bernard Revel School, both of Yeshiva University. Rabbi Adler was also awarded, a Doctor of Divinity, by The Jewish Theological Seminary in recognition of over a quarter century of service to the Jewish People.
A member of The Board of Governors of The New York Board of Rabbis,
The Rabbinical Assembly, UJA’s Rabbinic Cabinet, JNF’s Rabbis For Israel Society, and an AIPAC Club Member, Rabbi Adler is an ardent Zionist and active in interfaith and community activities. His adult educational offerings and Jewish film series have developed a large and enthusiastic following.
Rabbi Raphael Adler is married to Francine, and they are the proud parents
of Robert and his wife Amy, Efraim and Benjamin. His passion is building relationships. Whether at service, classes, or pastoral visits, Rabbi Adler looks forward to getting to know you and deepening your spiritual connections. A favorite Hasidic saying, taught by his late grandfather, Rabbi Benjamin Wykansky, is that there is only one requirement to be a congregational rabbi, you must love people. He tries every day to keep faith with that lesson.
